         Kung Fu

There are many different styles of Kung Fu one of those styles is Northern Shaolin (Pek Sil Lum).  The earliest roots that I have found were associated with Tamo, Indian Bodhidrama master.  Tamo came to China in the 6th century A.D. and taught heath, exercise and Buddhist theory.  Since China is made up of different geographical planes different concepts and principles have been imputed between the Northern and Southern styles of Kung Fu.  The Northern styles have develop lower stances, dynamic high kicks and have developed power through a shorter strike when actually fighting.

Some of the Southern styles are Wing Chung, Hung Gar and Southern Preying Mantis.  The Southern styles which came from a much warmer climate uses a taller stance, lower kicks and circular movements.

Since the word Kung Fu meaning: some who is highly skilled.  A person can be a Kung fu: Carpenter, Cook, mathematician or what ever they may be greatly skilled in.
